About Dr. Gerd Heuschmann

Dr. Gerd Heuschmann is a world renowned veterinarian, professional horse trainer, Master (Bereiter) rider and best selling author. After years of training through the levels of Dressage, he attended veterinary school in Munich, Germany,  specializing in equine orthopedics before he began his own practice. 

 Dr. Heuschmann has been an active member of the hyperflexion (Rollkur) debate, weighing in at numerous symposiums and workshops around the world. 

Gerd is a brilliant speaker and is incredibly passionate about the horse and their well-being. 

Taking training back to the classical principles, he now helps teach and coach horses around the world of all disciplines while educating them through proper biomechanics.

Dr. Heuschmann has written and published many incredible best seller books as well including Balancing Act, Tug O War, and Collection or Contortion. 

Event Details and Registration

Symposium: This Symposium will take place May 17th, 18th, and 19th at the Ozaukee County Fairgrounds. Dr. Gerd Heuschmann will visually present ​and share his vast knowledge on the anatomy and Biomechanics of the equine athlete through a power point and presentation.

Book Signing: Join us for a special private dinner with Dr. Heuschmann and bring your books! Exclusive time will be reserved for Book Signing, additional books will be available for purchase.

Lesson Rides: ALL lesson riders are required to purchase tickets to the Symposium. Lesson spots are limited and will be reserved on a first come basis. Four lessons will take place Saturday afternoon and four more Sunday afternoon, followed by four Monday morning. Lessons will run approximately 45min each. Be prepared with specific work you would like to focus on in your lesson. All lessons will center around creating proper balance and riding with correct biomechanics based on German Classical Dressage Principles.

Facility: The entire event will take place at the Ozaukee County Fairgrounds in Cedarburg, WI. (W67N866 Washington Ave, Cedarburg, WI 53012) The facility includes an indoor arena and stall barn along with 2 large outdoor arenas. Lectures will take place in the Main Hall across the parking lot. Overnight trailer hook-ups are available.
